Halloween (1978): Inspired nearly every horror film in the 80s. In John Carpenter’s great filmography, this sits on the top. 10/10
Tweet-Size Horror: An American Werewolf in Paris (1997)
An American Werewolf in Paris: A decade late sequel no one wanted. Compare this to the original and see why makeup FX always beat CGI. 2/10
Tweet-Size Horror: An American Werewolf in London (1981)
An American Werewolf in London: Scary as hell in one scene, funny as hell the next. No horror/comedy or werewolf film comes close. 10/10
Film Review – Cutie Honey
Cutie Honey is a hilarious Japanese fantasy film about a girl superhero (sort of). She’s a super fighter and dresses very slutty with this outfit that emphasizes her boobs. I watched it with the English overdub since it seemed even more hilarious.
Tweet-Size Horror: Night of the Creeps (1986)
Night of the Creeps: A fun homage to nearly every horror subgenre. Tom Atkins steals the movie as the hard boiled Detective Cameron. 8/10
Tweet-Size Horror: Saw VI (2009)
Saw VI: Full of the same flashbacks, gore, MTV editing, and bad acting. Can we please get a Jigsaw zombie or ghost or something in VII? 4/10
Film Review – Where The Wild Things Are
I’ll admit, I’m one of the only people in the world who has never read Where The Wild Things Are. Yes, I understand there are very few words in it and it’s for kids, but I’ve never read it. So I really didn’t know what to expect going in when M. Giant asked me to go to it. A little boy gets into a fight with his mother when he’s being a pain in the ass. He runs away and has an imaginary adventure (or is it?). He sails to an island inhabited by these giant creatures who take him in as their king. He tries to organize things on the island so everyone is happy, but ends up pissing off one or another of them all the time. He learns some life lessons and decides to sail back home to his mother.
Tweet-Size Horror: Saw V (2008)
Saw V: Continues the downward spiral of the series. Nothing much of interest here, they even forgot to have a twist ending. 4/10
Tweet-Size Horror: Saw IV (2007)
Saw IV: The only reason to see this is to find out how a horror series can continue when the villain is dead and not a zombie. 4/10
Tweet-Size Horror: Saw III (2006)
Saw III: Feels like the end of a trilogy. It wouldn’t have been a strong ending, but at least it would have ended. 5/10
