Madman (1982): A Friday the 13th rip-off with few redeeming factors. A good villain and great ending is all she has going for her. 4/10

The Burning (1981): A Friday the 13th rip-off that makes up for unoriginality with great Tom Savini gore effects and death scenes. 7/10

Drag Me To Hell: Sam Raimi’s triumphant return to splatstick horror. The only downside: a twist ending you can see coming a mile away. 8/10

Army of Darkness: If you want to know why the world loves Bruce Campbell, watch this movie. A hilarious sword and sorcery epic. 9/10

Evil Dead II: Although the tone is more comedy oriented, this one feels a little too much like a slightly inferior remake of the first. 8/10

The Evil Dead: Bruce Campbell may not be a badass yet, but this low budget horror classic is full of great gore and has style to spare. 10/10

Friday the 13th (2009): For the 1st time since part 6 the series goes back to basics. One of the few decent remakes of an 80s classic. 7/10

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is part two of the 4-book teen series about vampires. The film picks up where it left off after the first film – hot high school girl, Bella, is in love with attractive pale and creepy Edward, a vampire. Edward’s family are all vampires and live in the woods of the Pacific Northwestern United States because the sun doesn’t come out there.

Freddy vs. Jason: Delivers everything you want out of a vs. movie: a high body count, geysers of blood, and a great final smack down. 8/10

This is a Romanian film about a college girl and her friend who hire a guy to do an abortion on one of them. They rent a hotel room, but it’s the wrong one, there’s all kinds of security and the guy doing the abortion is not happy about it. He explains the procedure, and for payment, he sleeps with both girls – those are his terms since what he’s doing could send him to jail for a long time.
