allen, i don't know you, i'm sure you're a really nice guy, but i think you have questionable taste in animated films at best. seriously, how have you never seen the emperor's new groove?!

As awesome as The Emperor's New Groove seems to be (and yes I will check it out), I certainly have my doubts that it's better than A Goofy Movie, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, and Pinocchio. But heck, I'll give it a shot.

And thanks, I'd like to think that I'm a fairly decent dude =)

Funnier than A Goofy Movie? I'm willing to to give it a chance, but let's not go overboard here.

Snow White boring? Ok, I'll give you that, but you can't debate the greatness of Pinocchio!

And Allen, A Goofy Movie? Really? I mean, while I think it's underrated, is it really better than Fantasia or Dumbo or The Lion King or Aladdin or Fantasia 2000 or Bambi or Peter Pan or Mulan?

I tend to think that Tarzan is kind of underrated anymore, and I dig Lilo & Stitch.

And let's hear it for Pooh's Heffalump Movie (ugh)…

Maybe it's more of a nostalgia thing, but I think A Goofy Movie ranks up there with the best. Is it better than the movies you listed? That's debatable, but I think the eras those films were in are represented by better films that I already have on my list (Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Snow White, and Pinocchio).

Of the 9 movies we listed, I certainly don't think it's the main head scratcher (*ahem* Emperor's New Groove *ahem*)

Something I didn't have the heart to tell Allen: while I think A Goofy Movie is cute, I do actually dispute whether it even belongs in the canon we're discussing. Wikipedia thinks not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_animated_films

I totally agree, I think A Goofy Movie might be the most under-appreciated animated movie to come from Disney. I absolutely love it.

I wouldn't call A Goofy Movie the funniest movie…I think it works on many different levels.

The music is awesome, the dramatic tension between father and son is great, and the comedy is solid.
