Good job on the roundtable.
Seen it a bunch of times, including just 2 weeks ago. That rapid fire Howard Hawks dialogue, that amazing scene where they outline the shape of the flying saucer that’s buried under the ice with their arms (great case of letting the audience fill in the information instead of just showing some cheesy special effect), an 8 foot Marshall Dillon very slowly attacking everyone, what must be history’s hottest electric blanket that melts a large block of ice, the very definition of a creepy mad scientist, those really cool blood drinking plants that must I’m guessing grow up to become Audrey II, the only woman in the cast sporting the very 50′s style pointy boob bra, and that one assistant scientist whose name I don’t know played by a voice actor who must have been in EVERYTHING back then (I swear Star Trek must have used that guy’s voice like 10 times). No, it’s not quite as good as the John Carpenter remake. But of that era of 1950′s style aliens from another planet coming here to take over movies it is one of the better ones.
Sorry I missed this roundtable.
