Spencer and Allen discuss Zoe Saldana in advance of Colombiana, look at Guy Pearce for Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark and give their DVD picks of the week.

For his DVD pick, Spencer chose one of the breakout indie hits this year, Troll Hunter (DVD/Blu-ray). Allen selected Mel Gibson’s return to the mainstream, The Beaver (DVD/Blu-ray).

The Proposition! Guy Pierce is the lead, and its amazing!

Proposition was a very interesting movie, it’s too bad we didn’t get enough time to talk about it. I would also mention First Snow, another very good movie he starred in.

The guy has so many interesting movies on his filmography we really had to hack and slash or else this episode would’ve been 3 hours long. I haven’t seen The Proposition yet, but I’m looking forward to checking it out.

That’s definitely true. If we talked about the films he was in, both as a lead and as a supporting character, the episode could have ran for awhile. But the guy is definitely quality in just about everything he’s in.

I have to agree with Allen on the one man/woman vs. an entire army. Though I think one movie that does it right is Taken. He at least gets beaten up pretty bad on his rampage. In regards to Colombiana… it looks pretty shaky.

Unobtanium is actually a term coined by physicists and engineers when referring to material with properties that do almost impossible, or amazing things. Such as, the material that’s used on spacecrafts for re-entry through our orbit. Cameron’s a physics geek and gave a nod their way with that terminology.
