The Crazies (2010): A modern horror remake that’s better than the original and a solid movie in its own right? You betcha. 8/10
Tweet-Size Horror: The Crazies (1973)
The Crazies (1973): A great premise is not developed enough by the script and some bad acting brings it down a notch, but still OK. 6/10
Tweet-Size Horror: New Year’s Evil (1980)
New Year’s Evil: Holiday themed slasher focuses more on the killer than most, but all other characters are supremely uninteresting. 5/10
Tweet-Size Horror: Shutter Island (2010)
Shutter Island: Some very suspenseful moments coupled with great surrealistic imagery. Goes on a bit too long, but still well worth it. 8/10
Tweet-Size Horror: Nightwing (1979)
Nightwing (1979): It’s Jaws, but with bats and awful special effects that aren’t kept hidden till the end. The actors are good though. 5/10
Tweet-Size Horror: Bad Dreams (1988)
Bad Dreams (1988): Rips off a lot from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, including a main actress, but it’s a pretty good rip-off. 7/10
Tweet-Size Horror: Evilspeak (1982)
Evilspeak: A Carrie rip-off complete with killer pigs, satanic computers, and Clint Howard. At least you can say it’s different. 4/10
Tweet-Size Horror: The Wolf Man (1941)
The Wolf Man (1941): A gripping tragedy that is also the best of the classic Universal monster movies. 9/10
Tweet-Size Horror: The Wolfman (2010)
The Wolfman (2010): Great werewolf action is hurt by some questionable CGI and a story that moves at too fast a pace to fully develop. 8/10
Tweet-Size Horror: The Entity (1981)
The Entity (1981): A woman’s life unravels as she becomes the repeated rape victim of an angry ghost. Based on a true story! 8/10
