Saw II: More of the same. Story keeps interest up in spite of the thinly drawn characters. Best twist ending of the series. 6/10

Saw: A great premise is squandered by a killer ripped off from Se7en and a twist that makes no sense when you think about it. 7/10

Zombieland: A really fun ride. Great performances and direction save a mediocre script with a penchant for non-stop voice over. 8/10

The Stepfather (2009): Long, dull remake. So you don’t get bored the director made sure Amber Heard is half naked in all of her scenes. 3/10

Stepfather 3: More of a bad remake of part 2 than a sequel. Terry O’Quinn is replaced by the bland Robert Wightman. Made for HBO. 3/10

Stepfather 2: More of the same, but worth checking out. Has more of a slasher movie feel than the first. Terry O’Quinn is still great. 6/10

The Stepfather (1987): Slow building suspense with a great performance by Terry O’Quinn. On DVD for the first time today. 8/10

Trick ‘r Treat: A good anthology film. Not perfect, each story could use more plot/character development. Unjustly premiering on DVD. 7/10

Paranormal Activity: One of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. See it late at night in a crowded theater. It’ll haunt you for weeks. 9/10
